| Let the children sit in a circle and nominate each child be a different farm animal. Everyone then starts to sing Old Macdonald had a farm together. When it comes to the animal, for example cow then the child nominated to be the cow, makes the corresponding noise and so on for each animal that comes up in the song. Kids love to make animal noises. So this game should be enjoyed by all. |
| Set up one fewer chair than the number of guests at your party. Start the music and have the children walk in a circle around the chairs, until you stop the music (Try choosing music appropriate to your party theme). When the music stops, each child tries to sit in one of the chairs. The player left standing must sit out. Try to give the person who sits out some sort of reward/prize, so as not to cause tears/unhappiness. Remove another chair, and repeat the process until one child remains. |
| Steek allerlei skate weg. |

| This children's game is perfect for slowing things down. You can adapt it to your theme i.e. Barney says or use your child’s name i.e. Cindy says… The children then have to copy what you do, stand on one leg, run on the spot, clap your hands, jump up & down, lie on the floor (take a breather!), turnaround and more… |
| Wrap a prize in some newspaper. Then add another layer of newspaper and in this layer add a sweet or a trinket. Continue to add more and more layers filled with surprises until there is a nice big parcel, make sure each participant gets something! When it is time to play the game, put on some music (appropriate to your theme) and let the children sit in a circle. The parcel must then be passed from one child to the next, when the music stops the child holding the parcel must take off one layer to uncover his/her surprise, continue until the final prize is uncovered. |
| A great game for all ages. Draw a character or picture relevant to your theme on the side of a cardboard box. Cut a hole in the top of the box, or if you are using a character like Garfield then make the hole where his mouth is. Make sure the hole is large enough for small bean bags to be thrown into it (without too much difficulty). Let each child have several chances to toss the bean bags through the hole. The child who manages the most bean bags wins a prize. |

| This is an old favourite children's game and it is perfect for any party. The children sit in a circle. The birthday boy/girl starts as the "Goose." He/she walks around the circle gently tapping each child on the head, saying "Duck" with each tap. When he/she is ready to choose the person to be the next Goose, he/she says "Goose" when tapping that person on the head. That child gets up and chases the "Goose" around the circle. If the "chosen Duck" does not tag the "Goose" before he/she makes it all the way around the circle and sits in the open spot, then the "chosen Duck" becomes the new "Goose" . If the "chosen Duck" tags the "Goose", then the "Goose" remains the same for the next round and the game continues. |
| This game can be adapted to your theme i.e. for a Pirate party, you can draw a treasure map and have your guests try to pin treasure chests nearest the area where "X" marks the spot). Mount the poster on the wall and place a piece of tape on the back of each object that is to be “pinned”. When it’s time to play, let each child close their eyes (or blindfold them) and then spin them around. Then point them toward the poster. The child who pins their object closest to the designated spot, wins a prize. |
| Sit in a circle, think of an easy message related to the party's theme. Let the birthday boy/girl whisper the message to the person next to him/her, that person then tells it to the next person and so on. When the message has travelled all the way around the circle, the last person says the message out loud. Then the birthday boy/girl says the original message out loud. It’s fun to see how the message gets a bit mixed-up. A lesson in rumours! |

| 44 homes. Now you have to choose for someone to be it, then that person chooses a home base, then the person who is it, must count up to 44 while the others hide. When that person is done they look for the others, if one of the people can go out of their hiding spot and run past the person who is it and then touch home base, they shout '44 homes'. But if the person who is it touches one of the other people, then that person who has been touched needs to help the one who is on, to catch the others. |

| When throwing a party where there are older and younger kids, the older kids usually find all the treasure first, I took photo's of some different sized plastic toys (animals) and printed the pictures out. Once I'd hidden all the toys, I gave each child a picture of the toy they had to find the pictures of the larger animals went to the little kids and the smaller animals to the older kids, they then had to find their animal and bring it to me, each child got a prize. |
